Controller
The controller responsible for processing personal data in connection with this website and Code Universe is:
Overview
Code Universe follows a data-minimization approach. The website has no user accounts, contact form, advertising, profiling, or behavioral analytics. Personal data are processed only where necessary to deliver and secure the website or respond to an email you initiate.
There is no automated decision-making and no profiling within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR.
Application and source-code data
Code Universe is designed to scan and visualize projects locally on your Mac. The website does not receive your source files, project structure, generated architecture map, settings, or related analysis data, and no Code Universe backend is operated for those project contents.
You decide which local project to open. If you export or share an image or other result, that action is initiated by you and handled through the destination or service you select.
Website and hosting data
When you access the website, technical connection data may be processed, including IP address, date and time, requested resource, referrer, browser or user-agent information, and security-related request data.
The purpose is to deliver the website, maintain availability and security, and investigate technical faults or attacks. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interests are reliable website delivery, IT security, abuse prevention, and fault diagnosis.
The website is hosted through Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Cloudflare processes connection and security data to provide the hosting and network services. Cloudflare acts as a processor for customer logs and as an independent controller for certain service data under its own privacy policy.
Information about Cloudflare is available in its Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum.
Email and external services
The Contact page opens your configured email application. If you send an email, we process your email address, message content, and related metadata to answer the request. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual or contractual communication and otherwise Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on the legitimate interest in responding to inquiries.
Email delivery involves the mail providers used by you and by the controller. Your data are not shared with other recipients unless required to answer the request, comply with law, or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
This website also links to external services such as GitHub. Data are transmitted to an external provider only when you choose to follow such a link. The destination provider's privacy policy then applies.
Retention and international transfers
We do not maintain our own visitor profiles or analytics database. Technical hosting and security data are retained only for the periods required by Cloudflare to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot its services, according to the applicable account settings, contractual terms, and Cloudflare policies.
Email correspondence is retained until the request has been resolved and then deleted unless continued storage is required by statutory retention obligations or necessary for legal claims. In those cases, the data are retained only for the applicable statutory period.
Cloudflare is established in the United States and may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where required, transfers are protected through the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the safeguards described in Cloudflare's DPA.
Your rights and complaints
Subject to the applicable legal requirements, you have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal.
You may object at any time to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for reasons arising from your particular situation. Questions and requests can be sent through the Code Universe contact page.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for controllers established in Lower Saxony is:
Die Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz Niedersachsen
Prinzenstraße 5
30159 Hannover
